In auctions, the buyer’s premium is a charge in addition to the hammer price of an auction item, or lot. The winning bidder is required to pay both the hammer price and the percentage of that price called for by the buyer’s premium.
The winning bid is also called the hammer price. It is the price upon which the auctioneer’s hammer falls, determining the sale price, but does not include the buyer’s premium or sales tax.
Your max bid is the maximum amount that you are willing to pay for an item. The auction software will bid on your behalf, up to the amount you have set.
Yes. All box-damaged products are inspected, and we do our best to visually inspect every product. We do not knowingly auction products that do not work. We will, however, auction products with cosmetic damage — these items are noted and photographed for your inspection.
The packaging of these products may be torn, scraped, ripped, dirty, and in some cases opened. This damage is due to improper loading, unloading, and mishandling. In most cases the product itself is not damaged.
During shipping and handling, some products receive scratches, dents, or dirt. Cosmetic damage does not affect the functionality of the item.
Preview gives you the ability to inspect the items in person prior to bidding.
You will be notified by email. You can also check your HiBid.com dashboard for any winning notifications.
Two ways: pick up free at our Paterson location within 10 business days of the auction closing (Sunday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM), or choose shipping and we’ll send your wins to the address on your HiBid account. Please note: items not collected within 10 days are considered abandoned and may be disposed of without a refund — if you need more time, email cs@njxauctions.com and we’ll work something out.
Yes — shipping is available on our auctions. We reserve about 3 business days after the auction ends to pack and ship orders. If you win multiple items, we pack them together in one shipment to give you the lowest possible cost. Once your order is packed, the shipping fee is added to your invoice and charged to the card on file. Shipments go to the address on your HiBid account, so please make sure it’s current.
We’ve partnered with shipping carriers to pass their lowest rates straight to you, and we never add a handling fee. The exact cost depends on the size and weight of your wins and is added to your invoice once your order is packed. Need it faster? Email cs@njxauctions.com at or before auction end and we’ll arrange expedited shipping at the carrier-quoted rate.
When registering for an auction you will be required to provide a credit or debit card for age verification and as your payment method. At the conclusion of the auction, the card on file will be charged automatically — unless you’ve let us know beforehand that you’d prefer to pay cash at pickup.
Yes to both — just tell us before the auction closes so we don’t charge the saved card. Email cs@njxauctions.com or use the “contact auctioneer” option on any lot page. Cash payments are completed in person during the pickup window; if payment isn’t made by the final pickup day, the card on file is charged.
Yes. Please supply us with a New Jersey state tax exemption certificate and we will gladly remove your sales tax.
